First Finish in 2018

As a longtime love of Libs Elliott fabric last year I joined the #libselliottminiswap on Instagram!  It was great fun foundation paper piecing this pattern together.  It is call “Hot Lips” and is available as a download from her website   Libs Elliott !  A great pattern to machine quilt because it is not to big and I got to play around with the quilting with different colors of Aurifil thread.  The quilt is 20” x 20” and I think my new favorite color of Aurifil 50wt thread is this gorgeous pink 2530! In return I received this beautiful mini for my wall! Thank you for stopping by! Lisa

All In A Row Quilt Along For February's goal for OMG, I wanted to complete a row and enter #allinarowquiltalong on Facebook and I got it done but I didn't link up with everything going on around the house. Missed the linkup! I will do better! You can see here where I was working on it on Valentines day In The Boon Docks: VAL 2016 if you want. So for the record February's Goal was met! You have until March 15 to submit rows into the Facebook Group! I am going to try and get another row done before the deadline.   On The Mend It was fantastic dealing with "Pink Eye" on my not so delighted 10 year old. But who doesn't hate Augmenten (Yuck) twice a day, and having someone put drops in your eyes 4 times a day. Then I caught a cold on top of it all and the weather has changed again. Meaning it is cold as ol' billy hell outside, my Grandma always used to say that. I haven't had time to do anything but wash a million washcloths and disinfect everything in

Stitch on Prints and Aurifil Giveaway

Stitch On Prints Welcome to "In The Boon Docks - Stitch on Prints" A few of the things I use to create my projects Thread Recently, a reader asked me what was some of my favorite things to use to sew with and listen up: I love Aurifil threads in any weight! I sew with Aurifil thread because I truly believe it is the best thread to sew with it. Aurifil glides through fabric whether I am machine sewing or hand sewing! Machine Sewing - It does not leave a bunch of thread dust (I don't know the technical term for the crap that gathers on your machine! Making you have to clean out your bobbin case after every project!). I do clean mine out often but that is another post! I use other 50 wt thread because honestly I do not own ever color Aurifil makes, which is a lot, and I pay for it myself. I won a sample pack on another blog and tested the 50 wt. on my sewing machine no breakage, and not a lot of thread dust. That means a lot to me because I hate both! I bought the

Easter Pot Holders

Image
I was stocking my Covert Robin and one of the things she has pinned is "Easter Pot Holders", the tutorial and pattern are available for free and you can pin it at Miss Mary Sewing Class or visit the blog Miss Mary Sewing Classes Blog David just had to demo how to use them! Just in case someone out in Blogland hasn't used a pot holder before. Here is how to hold your pan with the pot holders on! The tutorial is excellent! The instructions are easy to follow and the pattern very simple. Just the way I like it. The only thing I added was a layer of Warm and Natural Batting with the insul-Bright pieces of the pattern. WVMQG met this afternoon and we had a swap. I thought the pot holders would make a great swap gift. So I made a set of them with these little Elephants for my partner. (Scraps). Sarah really liked them. Yippee! Sarah of COOPCRAFTS made me this really cool Key Fob! She has a great tutorial on her website on how to make "Ribbon Key Fobs".
