Word for 2016

Image
Back in December when I saw the post on this linky party at Patty's blog Elm Street Quilts: Happy 2016! Word16 beginsI really wanted to participate! Time is limited, but the more I thought about it the more determined I became to do a mini. What WORD would describe what I wanted to do this year. Going into my fourth year as a blogger I have gotten opportunities that I would never have had without blogging. Making quilts and projects for designers and companies is like a dream come true for me. For almost 4 years, I have hopped all over Blogland trying to gain followers and keep it interesting. This year I am going to do that and work on making things to beautify our home. I look at people like Lori Holt's Bee In My Bonnet home and gasp with delight. From quilts to curtains you will see things you will want to make.Home is not just a house but a place filled with love Home is were the heart is... I want my home to be beautiful and inviting with handmade items that refle…

Lori Holt of Bee In My Bonnetis such a talented author, pattern and fabric designer. I love her books and fabric lines with Riley Blake.Have you been following along with Lori Holt's Farm Girl Vintage and jumped on the #farmgirlfridays bandwagon? I love seeing the blocks each week on Instagram. The book has a great variety of patterns that are very easy to follow. It is designed to open and lay flat. The photography is so colorful and beautiful. Did I say cute, so very cute! A keeper my friends! Buy yourself a copy at the Fat Quarter Shop! Old Glory Block Living with two guys, my husband and grandson their hangout space is the livingroom. When I told them I was redoing the couch pillows they both told me they wanted to choose the fabrics. No girly fabric for them. The pattern for "Old Glory" has a scrappy look but that didn't get the go ahead…

Blogger's Quilt Festival

Image
Hi everyone, I am number 37 over Bloggers Quilt Festival: Throw Quilts. Please go take a look and Vote!

To vote this year you have to copy and paste the blog address in the vote box!
I am submitting this quilt into the "Throw Category" because when I originally made it in December this is what I said about it!

"Well last week I was working on a throw quilt for my new granddaughter to be born in January. I finished the top on Monday! I call it a throw quilt because I want it thrown on the floor/ground before the baby is put down on the floor or in the grass outside. Put it on the couch before you put the baby on it. A quilt you can take in the car and wash it when you get home. A barrier between the baby and the world. A baby wrapped in love! Yes, it is a little sappy!"
At the baby shower my daughter was expecting burp cloths! She knows I feel every new mom cannot live without them. She was mighty surprised to find Zoey's quilt in the bag! It made her cry seeing he…
