ALYOF November Goal

Life is amazing, no matter how much preplanning I do lately things just are not getting done. I decided I would post them anyways here for the record! I was going to enter this Flowering Snowball mini quilt into
Amy's Creative Side Blogger's Quilt Festival Fall 2014
I went out two weeks ago and took some beautiful photos! I completed my ALYOF October Goal for
Sew BitterSweet Designs
and again missed the deadline!
But I did make the deadline for
World Book Media
who took it to Quilt Market
(yes, first time, very exciting, want to do it again)!

I made this cute little fabric basket for David's sweet 4th grade teacher! I admire men and women who can teach a room full of 9 and10 years old!
For I think I would go Buggers (hi, Lucy)! One is enough for me!
Since grossing me out lately is his entertainment.

So for November I am going to try and get my self together and meet my next deadline! The IG Mini Swap! I have it narrowed down to these two patterns! I just got my rulers and patt…

I recently won (2) different Traveling Stash Boxes

Boxes #2 & #3

There is so much good stuff in these box – patterns, notions, books, and fabric.

This is open to US mailing addresses only – sorry international guests. :-(
(International Postal Rates)

You must be willing to pay the $12 or so dollars to ship to the next person!

You must be willing to replace the equivalent value and/or type of product that you took out (Only Quilt Shop Quality Fabric)

Please realize the box is NOT A PRIZE. You don't get to keep the whole box of stuff. You take what you want from the box and then replace it with items of equal (or better) value. That means if you take 5 fat quarters you replace with the equivalent of 5 fat quarters. Or if you clean out the patterns and books, you put some new ones in th…

A Perfect Picnic Blog Hop

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to In The Boon Docks, I am Lisa, today is
day 5 of the hop and our day for a picnic! Well by now you have seen some pretty nice picnics
and beautiful quilts!

Lately our lives are a bit turned upside down!
Sewing is a passion for me,
I love it and blog hops
but responsibility to family always comes first.

It is easy to plan a perfect picnic
But when you mix life into it
Anything goes

I think I covered all the requirements with the help
of our Grandkids and a great Giveaway!

(Hopefully Madam Samm @ Sew We Quilt and
Mary @ I Piece 2 - Mary
will laugh at our perfect picnic)!
Without them we wouldn't have had this great blog hop
so thank you both for all your planning and hard work!

Most important for the "Perfect Picnic"
Is entertainment
Kids love water
David enjoy teaching Zoey
Slip and slide

(She mostly sat and got sprayed)
Very entertaining for her! Have a picnic basket!
(It looks pretty good for being 20 years old) Have a menu!
(For two kids the best menu is always…

I set my goals for March - ALYOF - March Goal

I also made Zoey a little Easter Basket Buddy

I haven't gotten any of my blocks done this month so I am behind but I am determined to continue what I start this year. Double the blocks for April!

My handsome boy earned his first tip in Tae Kwan Do! We are very proud of all his hard work! Thank you for stopping by!

Think Ruffles Blog Hop Welcome to "In The Boon Docks" and Day 1 of the "Think Ruffles Blog Hop"! My name is Lisa and I am so happy you are here today to see my quilt with ruffles! I have to thank Madam Samm @Sew We Quiltand Amy (Head Cheerleader)@ Sew Incredibly Crazy for arranging this great hop!
What is a ruffle? There are lots of different kinds and Madam Samm left it open to interpretation. She showed us how to make some and at the time I was thinking; ruffled bloomers, ruffled dresses, ruffled pillows. Then I saw a quilt in a magazine with what looked like ruffles! I kind of browsed through the issue of Quilt-it today, March/April 2014 issue and left it in my rocking chair and went to work. The second time I read the "Garden Path" pattern by Ann Baxter, (I had already made the quilt), it read "ruching", you don't know the horr…

In The Mail

I just love walking to the mailbox! Just to see if there is something besides BILLS in it. Today I got three packages and I am so excited! Two of those goodies are winnings from giveaways I entered last month! It is uplifting to win things! The Winnings

First package is hand dyed fabric from Cynthia, a talented designer and awesome artist! She designed the fabric I used in my infinity scarf is Kona Modern Quilts, Merlot Color-story, and blogs at Cynthia Frenette. Pretty fabric that I will use in something special. Cynthia has a great blog and very nice giveaways, check her out! Thank you Cynthia, the fabric is beautiful and I love the little extra, so nice of you to have this giveaway! Cynthia is so sweet she threw in some rick rack and a little heart! It is always fun to find something extra in a package! My second package was from Joanna at Shape Moth, Unique Textile Art. Another very talented woman, her giveaway was through the Fat Quarter Shop, 10 fat quarters of Lemon Cosmo…

QuiltCon Challenge Block

A couple months ago I won the QuiltCon Kona Cotton Solids FQ Set from Pink Chalk Fabrics it is still available for $18.95. I was very surprised when I won and knew then I would have to enter, I had no excuse! Plus, the Kona solids in this set are really beautiful together. The only fabric I added was the stripe of Kona Cotton Solid "Snow".

I challenge others in Blogland that are interested in the Modern Movement to create your one block and submit it before August 2012. Who knows it might end up on the QuiltCon Quilt or going to children who need to be kept warm next winter, either way you win the satisfaction that you tried it. There is also a Flickr site on the main page to look at all the blocks being submitted. This is my QuiltCon Challenge Block called "Fractured", I don't know if I should really name a block or not but this time I did. I got the idea for it from the Craftsy BOM. QuiltCon is being presented by the The Modern Quilt Guild. I am a membe…
