This helped when I raw edge applicated it on the 5" square! But I am getting ahead of myself. I outlined the spider on some iron on double sided interfacing! Then centered everything on the red cross in the green square. Ironed it on the 5" x 5" square. Sewed the raw edge applique then the web string. I am sure there is a better word, but I cannot think of it! Sew the 2 1/2" borders on, match at top, trim! I do sides first then to…

Pot Holders and Practice FMQ

Feeling the Pressure?

Well this week has flown by and I am feeling a little stressed! It always seems to do that when I have so much to do and make. I have several projects going at once for Christmas. Scrambling around looking for decorations, finding the presents I stashed away months ago, and wrapping the ones I have found. Plus shopping for the ones I forgot. Ever do that knowing you will need presents for a few but the perfect gift never appeared so at the end you are looking for something they will like. I hate buying gifts that don't match the person, one reason I shop all year. Do you?

To add to all this confusion last week while cooking my husband asked me for a few new pot holders. He said the ones we have are just to small and thin. This was after he had used his mothers new ones that I madeherefor the Black Tie Boogie! This fabric was in my stash for a few years! I know Jan Patek is the designer, some call it cheater fabric because you don't have to sew it…

This Aspen Frost mini quilt was created to be part of this blog hop and a Christmas present. If you would like to know more about when I was makingit, what I didn't tell you was it was for this "Snowman Skating Rink". A gift for someone who also loves Christmas! Favorite Foods!
I have to say nothing is prettier than a Mixed Berry Pie!

I hadn't baked it or put the topping on it yet but it looked so pretty!

Mug Rug or Mini Quilt
My BFF of about 24 years became a grandma, and what started as a mug rug, ended up a Mini Quilt, my first one. I hope she will like it. I made it from the scraps from her grandsons quilt. Then put it in the mail.
It's so small but I feel Very proud. For you quilters, I have nothing but admiration for you, it is very hard to keep the lines straight.

Children
David had his first sleepover with his friend Christian. I think both boys had a great time. No sleep but a great time. David and his friend are wanna be Jedi's!

Charity Work
Still here, Great! This week Salt Rock CEOS worked on clothing protectors for Hospic. Find something you can make for an organization in your area. If we all give back just a little bit we can make a big difference.

Back to school tomorrow for hubby and David. I'll find something…
