Spent Time Creating

I spent time making Ollie (daughter's dog) a bed and some toys out of scraps.

The flower looking toys are just the scraps from burp cloths stacked up and sew down the center 3 or 4 times. "Ollie" throws them around and plays with them. I bought the fabric for his bed at a thrift store for $2.00 and he is actually laying on it. The Baby Burp Cloths Pattern I always use is a free download from That Patchwork Place. All the flannel is very cute, soft, great quality, and bought at JoAnn fabric and craft stores. My daughter was really pleased because she picking out the fabric over the last 3 months. My favorite is this quilting cotton I bought somewhere by Deb Strain! Love the baby feet! Michael, Kristin, and I are walking a lot to get this baby moving. As we were walking through Walmart I told them if her water breaks grab a jar of "pickles" off the shelf and break it! I was kidding but I did hear that many times over the years. Ghastlies have arrived

Vicki @ Quilting Lodge had a giveaway of 2 yards of "A Ghastlie Night" The Alexander Henry Fabric Collection. I won yippee! She also put in a yard of this other "Ghastlie" fabric, which is beautiful! Best part my momma loves it. She can be a bit hard to please when it comes to fabric (does not sew) she thinks most of it is boring. Not the Ghastlies! laughing she ask me what I was making for her. Thank you Vicki you gave me an awesome prize.

I Love This Line! It is just fun! Speaking of Vicki, she just won "Best Appliqué Quilt Category" from Blogger's Quilt Festival @ Amy's Creative Side. So when I tell you she is really talented check out her blog "Quilting Lodge". When I emailed her the other day she told me she is working on a new pattern that will be coming out soon. I am sure it will be a winner. Anyone besides me love this "knitting group"! My husband's favorite cousins two children and their spouses had babies t…

County Fair Results

Image
Well no "Best of Show" this year but I did get (3) "1st Place" Ribbons on these! So, here is: "Beauty and the Beast" Close up to show the nice straight lines! I ripped out the seams on three rows until I got it right! Quilted all up nice by my friend Irene Hensley. I used "Another Iota" by Robert Kaufman. It makes a great binding! "Sophie's Twister"Lastly, I submitted a jar of yummy "Pineapple Jam" that I forgot to take a picture of the night I dropped everything off. Thank you all for indulging me while I showed off.

I really encourage you to show your beautiful creations in your local fairs. It validates your work and makes you feel good inside. Thank you for stopping by "In The Boon Docks" Lisa

Dilemma

Do I save this for the county fair and mail it to the mother with a hopeful ribbon or mail it to the mother when I am done? I still need to put the aqua border on it. I might put a little white 1 1/2" border around the pink, then the aqua border? Got any advice? I am listening!

The fair is in July I think? Is that to long to wait?
