I love the free pattern and think these would  also look great if you just wanted to  make placemats for the 4th of July! It is great for a beginner or experienced sewer!

Alphabitties  are great for keeping track  of all your pattern pieces!

It is a great pattern to chain piece quickly together!

The Clover Forked Pins make these seams line up perfect! They are my new favorite notion!

Retreat Bag 2.0

Image
I love Santa Fe by Sara Watts as soon as I saw it in the Culcita box I knew I wanted something special.  My husbands birthday was coming up so I decided on a medicine pouch! It had to be big and different!
I saw a post on IG for the Internal Wire Frames for the Retreat Bag 2.0 by Emmaline Bags it said the pattern was free. I am sorry I don’t remember the shops name.  The frames for the large where $4.00 so I bought 4. I figured if it proved to hard I’d sell the rest. But if I liked the pattern I had them on hand to make more! Do you ever do that? Sometimes I end up with a bunch of junk I will never use.  But not this time! He loves the bag!  It is big and roomy!

It has two pockets.
 Problems for me
Never sewn a zipper on the outside of a bag before. So, I searched on YouTube and found a video tutorial on sewing the bag by Birdcage and Thread. She does a great job explaining everything you need to do to make the bag.

The hardware intimidated me! How in Heaven was I going to sew bars into t…

FQS Spooky Delights Quilt Along

Image
Welcome to Week 2 of the Fat Quarter Shop's Jolly Jabber Spooky Delights Quilt Along! Each week the FQS will release a new step in the pattern by Anne Sutten. You can download the Spooky Delights Quilt Along Week 2 Quilt Center - Spooky Delights Quilt Along Week 2 I love this pattern and had such a good time working on the center section this week! You will too with piecing and some basic applique (no skills needed). You got this! I will say that I do find Pink Alphabitties® Specialty Marking Tools It's Sew Emma #ISE-701 (they come in blue too) to be very handy! The poster board with the foam in the middle works well for laying the whole project out. I changed a few fabrics for scraps I found in my stash. I really like a yellow moon and wanted the lights on in the pumpkins. How are you going to see anything! Here are my Ghastlies! I think they turned out great! See you can have a lot of fun with this tablerunner! Like adding a few extra bats flying closer to the moon!…

Nuts About ? Blog Hop and Giveaway

Image
I have always loved a good blog hop and this is a great one so far! Nuts About ? was thought up by Marian of Seams To Be Sew! She is such a sweet hostess. Thank you Marian for all your hard work. I spent a great deal of time thinking about what I am nuts about! My family (yes, but not for a hop), I truly love pincushions, but I really do have a thing for pillows!I am Nuts for - PillowsDon't you just love Charlie Harper! I do! Sometimes a print is just to perfect to cut up. Do a little straight line quilting and make pretty pillows for your couch. The lighting in my house was bad today, so out on the lawn for photos.
Here are a few I have made over the last 8 months! Great way to practice invisible zippers!
Making couch cushions kind of brightens up a room! Holidays is just one reason to make a pillow or two!
Even the neck pillow got recovered! Love the blue roses by Cotton + Steel! It is removeable.
These were all made using Lori Holt patterns from her book, Farm Girl Vintage (I am nu…
