Dare to Dresden Blog Hop

Welcome to "In The Boon Docks", I am Lisa and I am forever creating something! You never know what you might find when you stop in here. Today is Day 3 of the Dare to Dresden blog hop sponsored by Madam Samm @ Sew We Quilt and Cheerleader Christine @ Quilt Monster In My ClosetThank you both for your excellent advice and giving us all a place to showcase our work!

I have lived off-line since January 10th due to the living in KY with my daughter and her fiancé waiting for the arrival of my granddaughter. I then stayed to help my daughter for the last week. I arrived home today around 6 pm. I had my sewing machine and a few thing but I didn't have my dresden ruler so my first attempt at making my own I went a little wrong. So I chopped off the triangle point and started again.

These cutting mats (3 in a pack) are cheap and great for making templates! You might want to pick up a pack next time you go to Walmart! See this is how they look when you …

Coffee Break Whatever
Welcome to "In The Boon Docks"! I am Lisa and I am so happy to be part of "Growing Your Blog". Thank you Vicki @ 2 Bags Full for all your hard work to make this happen. Here I write about living in a rural area, children, family, and crafting. When I say crafting I mean sewing, quilting, crocheting, and knitting! I love blog hops and meeting new people online! Giveaways are done at least monthly to entertain me! Normally giveaway prizes are sewing items (books, fabric, tools) today's giveaway is a pouch I made just for one of you. I love creating unique gifts with fun fabric. My style is modern but I love traditional! I am a member of the West Virginia Modern Quilt Guild. My quilts are listed under the Quilt Tab at the top of the blog if you would like to look at some of my work from 2012. I began blogging just over one year ago to document my quilting journey and in …

Traveling Stash Pass It On Giveaway

Image
The Pass It on Traveling Stash Box is jam packed with fabric, patterns, and notions! The best part is opening the box and finding so much stuff with the feeling you could remove everything and repack it with any thing you want for the next person. Only problem with that is it could be quite "costly", a whole lot of things fit into this box. So, my cousin and I careful looked at each item, which was fun. Their family came for Thanksgiving and deer season. Which means our husbands and kids where all out hunting when this box arrived the day after Thanksgiving. This was in the box! Yippee! I really love this stash box concept! I fell hard for these things! And this pattern - not the kid's mess on the table! I am adding these patterns and notions to the box! I pulled these fabrics from my stash to replace the stash I wanted to take out.

Go to the Quilting Gallery and become a Quilting Blogger

Image
I just went to the Quilting Gallery which is hosted by Pat Sloan and Michelle Foster. They have a huge database with links to thousands of blogs that all quilt. Last night I went on it looking around and found 8 other bloggers in my state. I like the idea of finding possible new friends who enjoy what I do to maybe go to a quilt show or sew with. So, follow the link, sign up, and grab a button!

While at the Quilting Gallery take a look around, I like the Learning Center. They just started a Beginner's Quilt Along, if you want some extra fun join in. They also have a Weekly Quilting Contest and they always need quilts and help with the voting. I like it because you get to see quilts from all over the world and all the different styles. It is easy to do and you don't have to jump through a bunch of hoops to have fun at 1:00 am in the morning.

Come on go check it out! When you join come back and leave a comment with your blog name on it and I will join any blogs I haven'…
