The Covert Robin

Image
I have signed up for:
I am working on a pouch for my partner in theModern Scrappy Bits Swap. I am using Perle Cotton to outline the boxes on both the front and the back of the pouch. Having never done this before it is a mystery how it will turn out but I do like the colors. Pairing Robert Kaufman, Kona Solid "Coal" and a mini charm of V and Co., "Simply Color" makes for a bright and happy pouch.. Here "In The Boon Docks", it is very cold and windy! A good day to stay inside and sew! Thank you for stopping by and please consider signing up at Rachael's Imagine Gnats forThe Covert Robin. The link will take you right to her door to find out more. Enjoy your day! Lisa

Modern Scrappy Bits Swap

Image
This is why I love participating in Flickr Swap Groups. I received a package in the mail the other day from the secret partner who got my name this round. There are thousands of swap groups going on at the Flickr site always needing people to join. Modern Scrappy Bits is in round 2 and I am hoping there will be a round 3! Danielle was responsible for sending me one fat quarter of scraps and a handmade item of her choice and she made me this beautiful mini quilt. So happy with her handmade, she is very talented. Thank you so much Danielle! This is the backing fabric! Sorry, don't know the name of it but it is really pretty! Modern scraps - oh how I love all these little pieces! Danielle sent me a wide range of scraps and definitely more than a fat quarter! Yippee fun! I like this so much because some I may not have ever boughten for myself but once I see them, I love them. On the other side, I might have it on my list of wanting at end of season, when they go on sale, and …

Traveling Stash Pass It On Giveaway

Image
The Pass It on Traveling Stash Box is jam packed with fabric, patterns, and notions! The best part is opening the box and finding so much stuff with the feeling you could remove everything and repack it with any thing you want for the next person. Only problem with that is it could be quite "costly", a whole lot of things fit into this box. So, my cousin and I careful looked at each item, which was fun. Their family came for Thanksgiving and deer season. Which means our husbands and kids where all out hunting when this box arrived the day after Thanksgiving. This was in the box! Yippee! I really love this stash box concept! I fell hard for these things! And this pattern - not the kid's mess on the table! I am adding these patterns and notions to the box! I pulled these fabrics from my stash to replace the stash I wanted to take out.

I got all my scraps together and made this little basket! I modified the pattern I used for the Patchwork Fabric Basket (that I blogged about here) by using 3 1/2 inch squares, (3) on each side (instead of the patchwork). I hope my partner in Modern Scrappy Bits Swap! Round 2 likes it as much as I do! I made this basket with scraps and have no idea who designed the fabric but I love it! I hope you decide to try something new this week! I would love to see it! Leave me a comment and I'll stop in and have a look! Thank you for stopping at "In The Boon Docks", Lisa!It is Tuesday so I am linking up with Connie @ Freemotion by the River. Thanks Lisa

Busy, Busy Week

Oh, so much is going on around here this week! Warning, picture heavy! Crocheting

I have decided I am in a learning stage with these new stitches! If they don't look right "rip them out" and start again. Which I did here and I like the sides much better the 4th time around. Thank all of you for your suggestions, I am going to try them! Modern Scrappy Bits Swap on Flickr

I took this mirror and case and jazzed it up a bit. Using a little double sided tape and Robert Kaufman "Cut & Sew" fabric, it makes a perfect little notion to put in with my scraps for my secret swap partner! I still have to make a pouch or a pincushion. I haven't decide which to make. If you know of a good tutorial for either please leave me a comment with a link. I would love to know where you find inspiration. Beans and Butterflies

My mother, David, and I picked beans on Tuesday at my in-laws. Picking beans is a dirty job and it was hot. We yielded about a bushel and a half and s…
