Pincushion Inspiration

I love magazines! Seeing who is making what and new techniques being used! New Fabrics being released! I have had this one sitting on my sewing table looking at these beautiful pillows. A light bulb went on - isn't that the cutest pincushion! Shrink it! Love Patchwork & Quilting - Sharing your passion for fabric! this project is in Issue 20, (one of my favorite magazines). It is from the U.K. but you can find it at Barnes & Noble Stores near you or a Books a Million. Book stores with magazines are my favorite place to hang out in a city. Which is one of the few things I miss living out here in the boon docks. I started to work on my shrink it project last night and testing different size hexagons, I think I am happy with 1 1/2"! I have cut several sizes of strips and will get back to you on what works! For now this is what I have. Lori Holt of Bee In My Bonnetis such a talented author, pattern and fabric designer. I love her books and fabric lines with Riley Blake.Have you been following along with Lori Holt's Farm Girl Vintage and jumped on the #farmgirlfridays bandwagon? I love seeing the blocks each week on Instagram. The book has a great variety of patterns that are very easy to follow. It is designed to open and lay flat. The photography is so colorful and beautiful. Did I say cute, so very cute! A keeper my friends! Buy yourself a copy at the Fat Quarter Shop! Old Glory Block Living with two guys, my husband and grandson their hangout space is the livingroom. Oh yes it is confirmed - I am rubbish at technology. I couldn't get the volume right but got there in the end!!! An Echino bird would be lovely on a cup cozie!

Better late than never!

So lets have some fun! I love Christmas and Madam Samm and Carol really setup a awesome blog hop with Ho ho ho! So many great ideas and projects for decorating and gifts. I am so happy to participate and appreciate all the work our cheerleaders put into planning it! Thank you ladies, you are wonderful! This Aspen Frost mini quilt was created to be part of this blog hop and a Christmas present. If you would like to know more about when I was makingit, what I didn't tell you was it was for this "Snowman Skating Rink". A gift for someone who also loves Christmas! Then I made these two pillows out of fabric samples of Winterkist!
