Book Review Stitch Camp

Book Review

Stitch Camp , by Nicole Blum and Catherine Newman, I found it at the public library the other day and liked that it had a variety of projects to do.  So I checked it out!  It is a delightful book and great projects for young and old.  It has great photography and very colorful.  The project instructions are well written and are targeted at things everyone might like.  My daughter is 36 weeks pregnant and on total bed rest so this is just what she needed to find something to do.

After digging around looking for where I put the felt I had stashed away.  She enjoyed choosing colors, zippers, and digging through my button collection.  It kept her busy for an afternoon and taught her something!

Nomatter what your Monster looks like it is fun to just create something!  Take your mind off your problems for a little while. Other projects I personally like are the key chains, and the bracelets!  I would recommend this book for anyone looking into something crafty to do.  Most everythi…

I set my goals for February ALYOF - February Goals
Found a way to make some ruffles but I can't show you more yet!
Visit March 5th for the big reveal and a great giveaway! The pouches got finished and all the blocks and I even participated in Le Challenge! Zoey got her pillow and it is almost time to come and visit again. Extra this month - Finishing David's new crocheted blanket was a big hit! When kids get a little older instead of a baby blanket they need a throw of their own. At least that is what he told me!

In the end I think I set to many goals so for March I might just l…

Le Challenge - Toffee

Welcome to In The Boon Docks!

Hi! I am Lisa, wife, mother, grandmother, veteran, and artist. In a rural area of West Virginia, USA, my family and I, live with 3 dogs, 8 chickens, a squirrel, and miscellaneous deer (they live in our woods). We grow, can, and freeze, both fruits and vegetables. I will admit I am a awful cook but my husband is a culinary student.

I love to blog, blog hop, swap, sew, quilt, crochet, knit, and just about any DIY project. I am a fabric and Aurifil thread lover! Hopefully, some of the things I write about here will interest you and keep you entertained. If so, please leave a comment occasionally and follow.

Why am I telling you all this at the Monthly Le Challenge? I see a lot of new blogs each month and I figure if I don't know you, you probably don't know me! A little introduction into the happenings at "In The Boon Docks".

Now for Le Challenge

Here is a toffee photo I borrowed from Kessa's post! Looks yummy but a craft project…

Simple Joys

"Simple Joys in Life"! My family is my life. My husband - I love him so much I feel like I could burst sometimes! My beautiful daughters bring me joy just talking to them. My grandchildren are so delightful and fun just to hold! But David keeps me much busier than that! I don't know were my life would be without him! Yes! These two are family and part of the simple joy I have everyday! I love making things even if it is not a quilt, sewing little things to give to or swap with others! It brings me such joy sending off things for someone else to get a surprise in the mail. I have yet to be disappointed on what I received in return! The look on a child's face when you give them something you made just for them! (Last weeks starts and finishes). I love fabrics - to look, hold, pet, buy, create! It gives me so much pleasure just going through my fabric containers looking for the next project! Big joy comes when going to quilt stores! The daffodils poking their hea…

Just Delivered

I am so excited, I won these from Deborah of Simply Miss Luella She is co-hosting a Fusion Blanket Crochet Along, it combines both fabric and crocheting, and you can't get much better than that. The blanket is just beautiful! You should go and see after you read me! Hee hee! Thank you Deborah I will be working on my stitches and try to make you proud.

"The Crochet Stitch Bible" is amazing! It is very detailed and shows you how to do each stitch. Look at some of them. I have been crocheting since 5th grade, made lots of blankets and scarfs, but I only know 2 stitches. So, this book opens up a whole new world. The magazine has some very beautiful projects in it. My mother-in-law is getting the needle holder. You should always be nice to hubby's mom! I might let her look at the book but it is mine! Love it to pieces! I will try to update you on any progress in new stitches! My next QAL! Anyone want to join me?
