ALYOF November 2015 Goal

A Lovely Year Of Finishes-October Goal Welcome Everyone!Well once again I feel like the year is zipping by and leaving me behind in a big way! Christmas is on it's way and of course I'm not ready. I have been buying for months and have it all crammed in my Fabric Stash Closet, no one opens that door! So it is safe from prying eyes! Do you hide gifts among your stash? My goal for October 2015 is to make a quilt out of Nomad, by Urbin Chiks, for Moda and a light blue Kona Solid. I really love the design patterns with the feathers and this print with a fox. The quilt will be for my cousin and his wife for Christmas! The only thing is we have Christmas each year with their family at Thanksgiving. So I better get busy to have it ready in time. My cousin is like my little brother and I feel so blessed to have him in my life. He helped me so much last year when my husband was sick. He always makes me feel so good about what I am making because he wants the them not a store bo…

Image
Hi Everyone it is so nice to be getting back on a schedule! David is back in school and the weather has really changed we need rain and it is hot. A week ago we were cold like in the 60's and this week the 90's. The trees are already starting to change! The hays has been cut and it is dusty. Fitting time to stay inside and sew! Happy National Sewing Month! What are you going to make this month? Little or big sew something lots of giveaways to link your project up too and maybe win a prize. My ALYOF goal for the month of September is to complete this full-sized quilt! I will not be able to give you anymore details than the pictures listed. Gotta get it done! I am really loving the texture and feel of RJR Cotton Supreme Solids available at Cotton Supreme Solids - Missouri Quilt Co. They match perfectly with Cotton + Steel! This is not an ad or anything but I thought I would show you these pins! I am a marker when I quilt. Row 1 block 10 that kind of marking. Before I …

I enjoy meeting up with the other bloggers

A Lovely Year Of Finishes!
Setting a goal each month

I hope all of you are safe and warm.

ALYOF February 2015

ALYOF February Finishes

My goal for February was to piece a quilt, which I did. But instead of being the top it became the back. I have really had a hard time writing this post. Usually I am writing about a quilt I have done and showing you everything but today I can't!
I did have a lot of fun making it.

Freespirit has really created a quality fabric! Bright beautiful colors. I love the feel of the Modern Solids. The perfect thickness. Probably not the right word for it but they are. When you make something out of them you know it will last and last. I know you can understand that! Will I use them again! YES, I love them!

(100) 5" squares of 75 colors
is a dream come true for this lover of color
Denyse Schmidt's DS Modern Solids Charm Pack

This quilt ended up as a backing for another quilt and
is very simplistic but meaningful to me!
I also sewed the front but I can't share it.
One day maybe but not today!

Almost as soon as it was done
it was whisked away to a quilt…

ALYOF February Goal

As my goal for February 2015
I am go to take all these lovely colors
and piece a quilt top!
I am in love with
Denyse Schmidt Modern Solids,
if you have followed this blog
for any length of time I always
use a certain solid but that has changed
since I felt this charm pack.

Love this orange
(It is perfect for a background)!
The design is in my head and
scribbled on a piece of scrap paper!
So I am ready,
before March I will have it done!

(100) 5" squares of 75 colors
is a dream come true for this lover of color
Denyse Schmidt Modern Solids I saw this pattern tonight over at
noodlehead
showing the totes her and her family made,
it's not one of her patterns (surprise) it belongs to the talented
(Then I borrowed her photo to show you)!

Shannon @Very Shannon called the Free Reversible Box Tote,
I went right away to download it!
Wouldn't this tote
look great in 2 1/2" squares
of these love solids!

ALYOF November Goal

Image
Life is amazing, no matter how much preplanning I do lately things just are not getting done. I decided I would post them anyways here for the record! I was going to enter this Flowering Snowball mini quilt into
Amy's Creative Side Blogger's Quilt Festival Fall 2014
I went out two weeks ago and took some beautiful photos! I completed my ALYOF October Goal for
Sew BitterSweet Designs
and again missed the deadline!
But I did make the deadline for
World Book Media
who took it to Quilt Market
(yes, first time, very exciting, want to do it again)!

I made this cute little fabric basket for David's sweet 4th grade teacher! I admire men and women who can teach a room full of 9 and10 years old!
For I think I would go Buggers (hi, Lucy)! One is enough for me!
Since grossing me out lately is his entertainment.

So for November I am going to try and get my self together and meet my next deadline! The IG Mini Swap! I have it narrowed down to these two patterns! I just got my rulers and patt…

ALYOF June Goal

Image
In 2014, I desperately want to become proficient at Paper Piecing and
I joined theSew Kitschy BOM to learn how
and have completely not followed through.
So, for the month of June I am committing to catching up
on all these blocks. The group is onthe pitcher with glasses (block 6)

(You can get this block free for the month of June - click on the link)
meaning
I have (4) block to do in month,
(1) a week.
I think I can do it!
We will see how well I can do.

I'm in a bit of a slump
hoping that by learning something
I really enjoy I can get motived!
I am drowning in fabric
and just cannot decide what to make!

I pull for a project really seem to like it
but then go back and look at it.
Nope that's not what I want!
Pull again!
Have stacks piled up!
Been going on most of last month!

Does this happen to you?

My goal is small this month but
I'm hoping for it to turn out big!

Thank you for stopping by!
Just create!

Hi everybody! My goal this month is to take this stack of beautiful fabric and create something! Shhhhhh, it's a secret! It is one of the most important things I need to do!

I set my goals for February ALYOF - February Goals
Found a way to make some ruffles but I can't show you more yet!
Visit March 5th for the big reveal and a great giveaway! The pouches got finished and all the blocks and I even participated in Le Challenge! Zoey got her pillow and it is almost time to come and visit again. Extra this month - Finishing David's new crocheted blanket was a big hit! When kids get a little older instead of a baby blanket they need a throw of their own. At least that is what he told me!

In the end I think I set to many goals so for March I might just l…
