"Spider Mini Quilt" Size: 9 1/2" x 9 1/2" Fabrics: Spider & Borders - Holiday Homies, Tula Pink, Freespirit, Background & Backing - miscellaneous 5" solid squares Binding - Rocacco Grunge, Moda Threads: Piecing & Quilting - Aurifil 50 wt thread 2000 (Light Sand), Raw Edge Applique - Aurifil 50 wt thread 2692 (Black) Binding - Aurifil 50 wt thread 2250 (Red) So who takes the Christmas fabric and makes a Halloween mini quilt? That would be me! Tutorial Print and cut out a random spider 3" or so. This helped when I raw edge applicated it on the 5" square! But I am getting ahead of myself. I outlined the spider on some iron on double sided interfacing! Then centered everything on the red cross in the green square. Ironed it on the 5" x 5" square. Sewed the raw edge applique then the web string. I am sure there is a better word, but I cannot think of it! Sew the 2 1/2" borders on, match at top, trim! I do sides fi

Marti Michell very generously sent all the Farmer's Wife 1930's Sampler Quilt Sew-along Bloggers all the sets we would need to make the quilt and so I started using them. I love that you can use the sets separately or combine them to create all kinds of beautiful patterns. It was a so generous of Marti and her company and I am very grateful. Marti Michell Mini Quilt Blog Hop - GnomeAngel The idea for the mini quiltmania was dreamed up by Angie of Gnome Angel to help the people in the Facebook group (26) Farmer's Wife 1930's Sampler Quilt Sew-along learn new ways to use the templates. I am excited and honored to be included as one of the bloggers! Next Friday, 11/4/2016, Marti Michell will be posting an amazing mini!   Fall Pumpkin Mini Quilt 18" high x 18.5" wide Fabrics - FQ - Magic Meows, Alexander Henry; FQ - Orange black dot, Robert Kaufman; FQ - Orange Camo, Nomad, Urbin Chiks, Moda; FQ - Orange Circles, S'more Love, Cosmo Crick

Spooky Delights Quilt Along Week 3

Image
Welcome to Week 3 of the Fat Quarter Shop Spooky Delights Quilt Along! Each week the FQS will release a new step in the pattern by Anne Sutten. You can download the Spooky Delights Quilt Along Week 3 Borders For the 2 1/2" border I used (2) The Boocrew Moda Mini Charms by Sweetwater . Precuts sometime come in handy when a pattern calls for a standard size. I had been saving these for just the right pattern! So instead of cutting I could jump into chain piecing. Aurifil 2310 50 wt. is my thread of choice for piecing! Border 1 and 3, I used Cotton Supreme Solids by RJR Fabrics. But, I made a mistake instead of measuring my first border to make sure the 2 1/2" border would line up without trimming! I just cut and sewed (excited to finish up) and didn't realize it until I had sewn border 2 on already. It may look a little wonky but I am so very happy with it! Halloween here I come!     Next to baste, quilt and bind!     Spooky Delights Quilt Along Bloggers !

She went shopping for ribbon, elastic, green and black felt. Made a pattern out of newspaper for the pumpkin face, green around the neck, and a hat. Sewed it into this awesome pumpkin costume for my oldest dau
