Selfish Sewing Week Day 2 & 3

Day 2 & 3 Birch Fabricsmakes beautiful fabrics that are wonderful for sewing! I am loving working with them this week.

Today I made a clutch purse using "Elk Grove Patchwork", a fat quarter of Kona solid fabric, white Aurifil 50 wt. thread, and the Pretty Little Framed Purse Tutorial again. Today is Day 1 of Selfish Sewing Week @Imagine Gnats. Rachael is a hoot, and I love participating in the things she thinks up! One reason, she and her friends are fun! The other reason is there are always plenty of giveaways going on. After you read my post hop on over to Rachael's and signup for them.

I just loveBirch Fabricthe way it feels so soft. They were nice enough to send me a little and I saved it for Selfish Sewing Week to make a few things for myself.

Isn't this fabric so "In The Boon Docks"?
It looks like it was just made for me!

Birch FabricsWhat to make for myself was really hard to decide. I make lots of things but usually for other people. I got to thinking about what I needed. It occurred to me that I didn't have a coin purse. My change is just floating around in the pouch I carry around. This morning I found the Pretty Little Framed Purses Pattern from the Moda Bake Shop, .pdf in my ibooks, that I had downloaded an…
